As 2024 draws to a close, we are prompted to reflect on an incredible year of innovation and collaboration. This year has been a testament to the collective power of our community toward driving meaningful change and circular economy efforts in Canada. We’d like to take a moment to celebrate the milestones we’ve reached and share the exciting plans that lie ahead for 2025.
1. Welcoming New Partners:
In 2024, we were thrilled to welcome 12 new CELC Partners, representing a 20% growth in our network. These partnerships have strengthened our collective ability to champion the circular economy across industries and sectors.
2. Launching Transformative Initiatives:
We introduced three new multi-year, multi-stakeholder initiatives this year, each aimed at tackling critical challenges and advancing circular solutions – from finance and investment, to supportive policy, measurement and indicator frameworks, and supply chains. These initiatives have set the stage for impactful outcomes in the years to come.
3. Building an Online Community:
Our new, exclusive CELC Partner online community platform, Circul8, went live in September 2024, creating a space for professionals, innovators, and enthusiasts to connect and exchange ideas, build new partnership, and launch new projects. With more than 100 active users and growing, this platform is poised as a hub for circular economy dialogue and collaboration in Canada.

With over 1,000 pre-registrations for the Canadian Circular Economy Summit 2025 (CCES 2025) and well on our way to another sold-out event in Montreal next April 15-17, we are energized by the excitement and interest in next year’s flagship circular economy event.
As we look to the future, CELC’s focus for 2025 will build on our strong foundation and strategic pivot in 2024. We aim to deepen our impact by fostering further collaboration, advancing innovative solutions, and inspiring action in line with our Circular Economy Action Plan for Canada. By continuing to amplify our voice and broaden our reach, we strive to accelerate the transition to a circular economy in Canada. With the collective power of our partners, collaborators, and community, we are committed to creating a future that is resilient, inclusive, and sustainable.
