Food Waste in Canadian Homes Report

Our partner, the National Zero Waste Council have released the findings of a nation-wide consumer insights survey conducted in June of this year in support of Love Food Hate Waste Canada.  LFHW Canada is a national cross-sector collaboration to address food waste in the home.  The new research, Food Waste in Canadian Homes in 2020, provides an initial understanding of the impact of COVID-19 on consumer behaviours and attitudes related to foodwaste. The research points to a high level of motivation among Canadians to waste less food, and suggests the introduction of physical distancing and stay at home measures may have had a positive impact on food management in the home – with many Canadians planning more and wasting less.
